Hydration in the Heat
As temperatures rise, staying hydrated becomes more than just a good habit — it is a safety priority.
Our production, sales, and marketing teams spend a lot of time in the field, on job sites, in neighborhoods, and moving between appointments. Heat can sneak up quickly, especially during long days, direct sun exposure, or physical work.
This month, we are encouraging everyone to be proactive about hydration and heat safety.
Heat safety reminders:
💦 Drink water before you feel thirsty. Thirst is often a sign that your body is already behind.
💦 Take water with you before heading to a job site, appointment, canvassing area, or outdoor meeting.
💦 Limit heavy caffeine and sugary drinks during extreme heat, since they may not hydrate as well as water.
💦 Take short cooling breaks when possible, especially during the hottest part of the day.
💦 Watch for signs of heat stress, including dizziness, headache, heavy sweating, weakness, nausea, muscle cramps, or confusion.
💦 Look out for your teammates. If someone seems overheated, confused, faint, or unwell, speak up and get help.
A quick challenge for our teams:T his week, snap a picture of your crew staying hydrated, taking a water break, or preparing for a safe day in the heat. Let’s highlight the simple things we do every day to keep ourselves and each other safe.
Safety is not just a policy — it is how we take care of our people.
