From earlier this week:

"Whether you bleed orange, scream Roll Tide, or chant “Go Dawgs!” at every fall tailgate—now’s your time to shine.

We’re celebrating National College Colors Day this Friday by inviting all team members to wear their favorite college team’s colors to work! 🧢👕 From alma maters to adopted game-day loyalties, we want to see your school spirit loud and proud.

📸 How to Join the Fun:

  • Wear your college team colors on Friday.

  • Snap a photo of you and your crew repping your school.

  • Post your pic to our group chat, internal feed, or shared folder (details to come).

  • Bonus points for mascots, foam fingers, and themed snacks!"

MASCOT QUIZ

Fun Facts about College Football

🏈 1. College Football Is Older Than the NFL

The first college football game was played on November 6, 1869, between Rutgers and Princeton—well before the NFL was founded in 1920! Rutgers won the historic matchup 6–4.

🎓 2. The Biggest Stadiums in America Are on College Campuses

The top three largest stadiums in the U.S. aren’t NFL—they’re college!

  • Michigan Stadium (“The Big House”) leads the pack with a capacity of over 107,000 fans.

  • It’s followed by Beaver Stadium (Penn State) and Ohio Stadium (Ohio State).

🐘 3. Nicknames Aren’t Always What You Think

Many college teams have mascots or nicknames that don’t match their official names.

  • The University of Alabama is known as the Crimson Tide, but their mascot is Big Al the elephant.

  • Meanwhile, Stanford’s official nickname is the Cardinal (the color, not the bird), but their mascot is a… dancing tree.

🥇 4. Notre Dame Leads in Most Heisman Trophy Winners

The Heisman Trophy, awarded annually to the most outstanding college football player, has been won by players from Notre Dame more than any other school (tied with Ohio State and Oklahoma at 7 each).

💰 5. College Football Is Big Business

College football generates billions in revenue each year. Major programs like Alabama, Georgia, and Texas earn over $100 million annually from ticket sales, TV deals, merchandise, and sponsorships.
